On behalf of the volunteers of Lagan Search & Rescue, I should like to thank Atkinson’s for the significant support you have shown our charity with the donation of furniture following the refurbishment of your client’s offices. The financial support provided through the release of this furniture has assisted Lagan Search & Rescue move forward in the dedication of an acute water rescue service for the City of Belfast. We are on the cusp of inclusion in the Strategic Review of Search & Rescue for Northern Ireland that will see Lagan Search & Rescue provide a dedicated, independent lifeboat for the River Lagan; the roll out of a preventative patrolling strategy at core times; development of both Kayak Rescue and Rescue Swimmer Corps; enhancement of our Emergency Medical Response Team and the further development of our Flood Response Team. Lagan Search & Rescue is 100% volunteer and all donations are thankfully received for investment in training and equipment that allows us to operate at the same professional levels as the statutory emergency service and associated working partners. The forthcoming purchase of additional water rescue PPE and investment in our Kayak Rescue Corps is largely down to the assistance received from Atkinson’s client through the disposal of this redundant furniture and we would be delighted to keep you updated on our development. On behalf of the volunteers of Lagan Search & Rescue I should once again like to offer a debt of gratitude to all involved in helping us on our way. We look forward to providing a dedicated and professional service that will benefit the local communities and visitors to the City of Belfast. With your support, we will make a difference to those in time of crisis. We are indebted and forever thankful for the continued support from Atkinson’s.
